Just to be clear - all of you who put up a reply saying it was OK to use your stuff, I can include your stuff in the list of things people can use without further notification?

Please reply if you disagree with this statement. For everyone and everything else, I am going to say - ask before you use!

Just to get a clarification, what do you mean by 'things people can use' - what people? Only i thought this thread was asking for conversion permission. Dont want to find out someone is altering stuff, rather than just a straight port from one game to another.

Turbos can be 'used in' the game (if Buffy is happy), but not edited in anyway, and a credit note with the train linked to http://www.futrondesign.co.uk would be great :)

This is entirely restricted to using an MSTS model to generate a set of images for use by the Locomotion rolling stock tool - nothing else. There are a number of people (on http://www.tt-forums.com) interested in using MSTS models as the basis for producing Locomotion images - I am trying to set them up with UKTS as a source for this and give them a head start with what can be used, what can with permission and what can't to head off any problems down the track (no pun intended). I've PM'ed Matt if he can tell me who answered what on the poll as I've got more answers than posts (28 poll replies to less than 20 replies).

<delurk>
'S only me, long-time user with no posts, also a user from the TT Forums with a bit of an interest in this. :)

To bring things from the clarity of mud to the slightly better clarity of dirty water, the only thing that is transferred directly from the TS model to the Loco model is the exterior view of a bit of stock. 136 views, at a spacing of around 2 2/3 degrees, from an elevation. Nothing more, nothing less.

The bits that someone else needs to fill in later are attributes for use in the game (name, description*, speed, power, traction, weight, etc.). That also shouldn't be a problem, there are plenty of sources of data around, and there's always the data from the models themselves (after all, someone that creates a Class 90 model doesn't own the fact that its top running speed is 110mph).

Those modellers that have said they've no problem, thanks for your support.

It would also be interesting to see which meanies are spoiling the fun by voting "No" ;)

Re-engage the cloaking device ...

* Description isn't long enough to accommodate any kind of notice, so credits are likely to be in readmes rather than anywhere else, especially since comments in the vehicle attributes aren't carried forward to the object file.

I won't repeat what I said on tt-forums Mr. CF - please appreciate that whilst a fully fledged Locomotion Loco is just 300K - MSTS usually weighs in at 5 to 10 times that per stock item and there are nearly 6000 registered users who are downloading

It would be really nice to have some narrow gauge things in locomotion, seeing that the Uk climate in locomotion lacks.. well, everything!
