FGE 312 HELP
Hi
Downloaded the BR version of this today and im very impressed. Noticed there was a FGE version available so thought id give that ago. however, when loading the model within MSTS I get a couple of messages then the sim crashes.
First of all I get the message "failed to find 310.sms" and then "failed to create cab view" at which point the sim crashes.
Ive looked in the readme but cant find anything of use, heres what it says
First Great Eastern 312 Class Emu,

It looks at first glance from the error messages that you're missing a sound (folder/alias ref) and cabview (folder/alias ref). The only way to be sure would be to examine the .eng file and work out from there whether you need to install cabview and sound folders from another loco, or whether they're aliased to a loco or to common folders.
If I get time later I'll grab the file and take a look, but today's a bit crammed later on; maybe someone else will get you the answer before I can.
BTW, the email address deletion I'll agree with, but there's no harm in leaving the author's name in the file - it might even give people a clue to the answer, as many authors have standardised their methods of dealing with cabs and sounds.

Had a quick shufti at the downloads - the Cab and Sounds folders are aliased to the Japanese Series 2000 from the default Tokyo-Hakone route. (It does say this on the info page for the BR 312) You must, therefore, have the Series2000 folder in the same Trainset folder as the 312 to get Cabview and Sounds.
you could change things to alias them to a common cab and sound - there are plenty of references and tutorials for this.

Hi
Amazingly there have been 172 downloads....and your the first to notice.
When I reskinned Ciarans Class312 to a class310 (for TM V3 CD)...I did a cabview and custom sounds.
Ciaran liked these an ask to include them with his new Regional railways version.....which he did.
Unfortunately the FGE version appears to be missing both these folders.
Cheers
Jon
Ps
After this was uploaded I found a few problems with the models lights etc....there is an updated version available hear

However you'll need WinRar to extract the file.

I'd have thought I included the cabview and sounds with 312 FGE is there anyone else that has noticed them missing let me know, I should point out that the FGE one has a completely separate cabview and sounds to the original BR one. Are you sure you downloaded the complete file there was no problems, check to see if you have the cabview and sounds in the 312 FGE folder if not give me an email address and I'll send it on to you..

Hi gitface (nice name
)
Ive downloaded the file 4 times on two seperate machines and ive unzipped with windows default, winzip and winrar and the sounds and cab folders appear to be missing.
If you could send me the files via e-mail that would be great.

I was waiting for someone to take the mikey out of that, not alot of thought gone into my username"Hi gitface (nice name )"
I can't understand why your encountering these problems I tested it before I uploaded, I'd be very interested to know did anyone else encounter the same problem, I'll have to remove if its giving people problems, until i sort it out, I'll send the cabview and sound to your email address.
