GMax or 3d Canvas

What is better to download for creating models in MSTS, GMax or 3D Canvas?

gMax, you cannot use the downloadable version of 3D Canvas to export content for MSTS. You can though pay for the more advanced version of Canvas

Have a look around the gMax and 3D Canvas forums and see how they work. A bonus with 3D Canvas is that Paul Gausden has created several plug-ins that make life a bit easier

Search on this site, on train-sim.com & steam4me for long & exhaustive discourses.

If you're tempted with 3dCanvas try the free download first before you pay for the full version. 3dCanvas won't work on my computer; I know others have had problems.

If only for this reason Gmax wins. You can export to MSTS, Trainz, Flightsim 2002 & 2004 using gamepacks. Can't export with a .dxf file though.

$70 (about Â£45) for 3D canvas Pro, exports to MSTS, flight sim and other formats.

After getting to know Gmax you'll like it. I've only just started doing model making aswell! Go for Gmax!
