Could someone make a Fairburn for me
Hi all,
I'm a volunteer at the 'Lakeside&Haverthwaite Railway' and I have decided that I'm going to make a version of it for Train Sim.
I was wondering if someone might be interested in modeling one of our two Fairburn 2-6-4 tanks numbers 42085 and 42073.
I'll upload some pictures when I have found some good ones.

They are wonderful engines - just been watching a video with a couple of them storming up the 1 in 50 gradient from Bradford Exchange!
I'd be happy to have a got at building one if somebody could supply some plans.
I'm also going to have a go at Furness No. 20 at some point, having just got hold of some plans of the original and rebuilt versions ... though that could be some time in the future.
Regards,
David Varley

Rebuilding the Furness Railway bit by bit!
For a preserved loco plans are not totally essential, just get in touch with the preserved line ask if they can let you have access to the loco for a day or so, go with a tape measure, digital camera and notebook and your away. Drawings are useful but if you can get access to the real thing it could be a major help, plus it helps you pick up on parts that were added/removed/altered from the original drawings.
Don't forget to offer the line a donation in return for their co-operation, that way everyone wins
