Has anyone got any plans to do a blue-grey version of a 4CEP, or can anyone tell me where I can find one? I can only see NSE and post-privatisation liveries in UKTrainSim.

I'm creating some 1980s activities for LBE and would like some AI CEPs coming off the South Eastern lines into Victoria.

I may get time to do it but as it's a livery I don't know very well, it may be a bit of a challenge.

Jaffa Cake would be a good livery to do as well. And Southern Green.

How about a version where the guards vans were behind the cabs?

Well, I've used the excellent tutorial at http://www.virtual-rail.co.uk to teach myself how to reskin rolling stock, and now have a blue-grey version of Dave Roles' CEP for personal use.

Actually the MBSO in the version I have has the guard's van at the end of the car, with the first class section in the Driving Trailer. Looks to me a bit like a rehash of a CIG, so I've moved the first class to the MBSO and put the guard's van back in the middle of the coach where it belongs.

This applies to exterior and alpha textures only, though, so the interior seats/compartments are now all out of place - can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial for fixing that?

Wow, someone actually used that! I can't even make head-nor-tail of it anymore as I wrote it at 11pm one night lol.

You can't change the internal layout.
That kind of change requires the original model source and 3d application.

My first attempt at a reskin, so please don't be too critical

First class accommodation should be compartments, and the second class section consists of one compartment plus one toilet. So the interior no longer corresponds to the exterior.

I took the liberty of removing Dave's headlamp, adding an authentic route code (Dover-Victoria fast - that's what it's supposed to be, anyway) and tidying up the unit number.

PS I've just noticed that it might in fact be Ian Morgan who built the original model. If he or Dave or anyone else can confirm, I'd be grateful!

I think it's the 4CIG Ian made that someone plastered a CEP front on. although it looked good it was the mismatch interiors that didn't.

Repaint looks good though.

Here's bit of info for you, if it helps. The info I have on the classifications seems to vary with whatever source I use so may not be 100% correct, but the descriptions are correct to the best of my knowledge and info.

Refurbed CEP Formations:

DMS: Driving Motor Standard
The CEPs featured BR Mk4 motor bogies at the driving end and a commonwealth trailer bogie at the opposite end. The seating was open plan (ish) if you don't count the divisions where the entrance doors were and were all standard class. There was no toilet. The motor coach was fitted with a motor generator and battery set providing 70v control and lighting voltage. Fluorescent lighting was provided.

TBC: Trailer Brake Composite
One standard class compartment and four 1st class compartments with a brake van in between. There was a toilet at each end. The coach had commonwealth trailer bogies and was marshalled in the unit with the first class compartments towards the middle of the unit. No fluorescent lighting was fitted.

TS: Trailer Standard
An open plan standard class coach with fluorescent lighting and a toilet at one end. The coach was fitted with commonwealth trailer bogies and was marshalled with the toilet next to the motor coach.

DMS: Driving Motor Standard

Yep, it is based on my old 421 model. I won't be modifying it again, I'm afraid, as the source files started getting a bit unstable. Sorry, but you will have to wait for LSE for a proper model of it.
