I do like these units (I get one every day).

Though you mention that SWT were the last to attain (sic) these trains: they've only ever been used on the South Western section, first under NSE and then SWT. Noone else has a 159...

Smoking bit has gone now as well.

I think the point I was trying to get across, was that they were the last to attain the 158's and when they did had slight modification to make them 159's instead.

I learnt about the smoking bit going after someon was telling me a story about how someone flicked a fag end or something and got stuck in the Air Con and start a little fire :-?

Ive just recieved the updates from Jonathan Powell which corrects the spacing between units, and also i will be using his 158 sounds also. Once this is sorted should be uploaded the the formations of 3,6 & 9 car.

Yup. That was me :)

I heard it from a train manager when travelling to Portsmouth.

Apparently, it was on one of the new EMUs. A lighted cigarette end ended up in the air conditioning and caused the motor to catch fire.

I guess it prompted SWT to re-think thier smoking policy.

Sorry but ive taken a step backwards. I recently lost a moths worth of work during a format, and also a backup failing. Luckly I had two backups, with the second being from a month ago.

The backup is an older version which I didnt finish 100%, infact its more like a SWT 158. All it needs are some amendments and then It should be uploaded.

At the moment It looks something similar to this:

Should be sorted by next week at the lastest I guess.

I think the air dam is black - might just be the lighting conditions I see it in though. There isn't the yellow around the lights to my memory, either. well, something about it doesn't look quite right anyway. vestibule door is yellow all over.

Fly splatter is also sadly lacking...

Apologies if this seems a bit... anal, really. I know these units very well, though...

Well if care to read my statement correctly you will see that is what it looks like now becuase I lost the final verison!

Like I said it loks more like a 158 in SWT, becuase its not complete. Once I get the time to complete it, then it will look like the final version. (the image shown on page 1)

Anyhows, tonight ive managed to get it back to to scratch and add futher improvement to the first version shown on page 1. This is includes proper alignement of the windows, as 158's have a different window layout to 159's, and ive also added in the fixes which Jonathan Powell sent me over, so there is now a 2,3,6,9 & 12 car formation consists with the trains connection together properly.

I have also alaised them to use the 158 sounds which are also by Jon.

Below are some shots from testing tonight, looks like it should be uploaded by the weekend at the lastest.

Very nice.

Will you be doing a 170 to go with the 159? they usually run these two sets together.

There is already a SWT 170 by Jonathan Powell on UKTS. I think it was the first 170 uploaded on the new model.

Luckly I caught the upload bandwagon at the right time and its now on UKTS:
