Locomotive, rolling stock and other plans.

Post by ahardy »

Hi guys.

How useful are plans for people? I am a member of Maidstone Model Engineering Society and have been looking through the hundreds pieces of paperwork we have. I gave come across loads of scale plans for locos from USA tanks to Bullied Pacifics to industrian engiens etc. Also wagons, coaches, inspection saloons, buildings and other bits. If these are usefull I am willing to cataloug and scan them and make them avaliable to anyone wishing to build models. What you think? Shall I scan them and catalouge them? Comments welcome.

There is a distinct lack of plans available online for UK railways, so always welcomed. However, if the plans were specifically created for model engineers, liberties are often taken with dimensions to make a locomotive that will work, rather than an exact scale model.

not many are actual enginnering plans, most are scale drawings aimed at modellers i think, there are several boxes of plans, no indication of where there from, look more model railway like to me.
