I'd hazard a guess that you have removed the transparency from the nameplate texture file, you'll need to put it through PaintShop Pro (or any other programme that does transparencies) and convert it with alpha in TGA Tools :).

Nope paint cannot do transparencies, you'll need a product like Paint Shop Pro for it

If by transparencies you are bychance referring to the alpha channel, then MSPaint in association with TGATools is perfectly capable of doing what is required, the creation of a totally transparent section around the nameplate.

Use TGATools to create the alpha template, send it to the editor, edit it, reload it, and then export the complete ace file.

Although the ownership of Paintshop Pro, Photoshop or similar does make life easier and allow for more detail to be built in to the textures, it is most definitely not a requirement.

It's probably you :) but you will need to be more specific to get a better answer.

Sure 'Clun' in real life hasn't as tall a chimney, but then my experise lies in the Field of the LMS, not GWR ;)

Sp316, Um I don't want to be picy but I don't have a record of you asking me for permission to repaint my loco. If you did and I positively responded then forgive an old mans memory! and email me my response to your original enquiry.

Also the lettering on the loco nameplate is not a GW like font . Clarenden T is a good font to use.

Hmmm its probably the angle of the shot distorting the perspective. I can assure you the chimney is the right height. The chimney is about the same height as the cab roof if you look at a drawing and the model is the same. It is true that the later Castles had a slightly repofiled chimney that was a little shorter by a couple of inches.
