BR 7 Plank Wooden Open (Tatty)

Post by bravedan »

Bit of light hearted modelling................the "special feature"..........not big and not clever, but.................

"ken u tell wot it is yet"?

Did I hear the Bobby in the 'Box we just passed sounding seven bells??

Now, what else is there to do that's not in the MSTS manual...............

Consider this thread "open house" for off the wall (but potentially possible) "features".......................... :o

Nice one Dave - all you need is to be able to start it off with the P key - or something...

As I said in the PM - how about missle launchers and Giraffe cars. Remember the Airfix wild West set - cowboys that drop off bridges!

I had the Royal Mail TPO set which collected and deposited mailbags, usually to skid across the lino and deep under the settee, where the cat lurked, preventing recovery!!

I actually stopped an Aunt buying me the Helicopter launching car, as it wasn't "realistic"........Blimey, I was an anorak even then...............

You would not believe the amount of "steam oil" (latterly baby oil) I used once they invented the steam effects unit......... I have recently bought one and am reducing it's dimensions and fitting it into a LMS Princess...in 'N' gauge!!!!!!!

Now for some other possible MSTS "features"...........

A tank car gassing off or leaking (downwards "steam")???

A load smouldering away or fully on fire (damn people throwing cigararette ends off bridges!)

Steam, etc from the breakdown crane while in transit?

Fumes from the Kitchen and Restaurant car roof vents? .....Very overdone sausages, a BR specialty, I remember!

Road Vehicle Exhaust?

Broken down vehicle with steaming bonnet?

Also, I wonder what's ultimately possible using Freightanim in ways not intended............................???

Incidentally, the Hot Box wagon is graphically the same as most of our 7 Plank non-end door wagon output, so can easily be made into other wagons very easily to add variety, just rename the wanted one's main .ace file as per the one in the "Hot Box" set if needed and substitute the .ace file.

Mail pick-up and drop off...that'd be an animation I'd pay to have...

Steam heat leaking from the ends of carriages?

Ooh! Ooh! I know, here are some nice animations I'd like to see: turntables that work, and maybe people that use AI to move towards carriage doors when the train stops in the station, and carriage doors that open...(sound of head being hit with a cricket bat marked 'MSTS2').... :drinking:

The pickup may be possible in MSTS, but complicated - see http://forums.atomic-systems.com/viewtopic.php?t=19715...

Quote- All been done afore.........R

Well actually no, the list in my post haven't, to my knowledge and from a site search..............

And anyway, with regard steam heating, extra steam leakage, etc, I don't see too many (any?) files available on the site???

Regards,

I uploaded a complete wag file (actually an eng file) for a steam heat leak. Do a search under my username and 'leak'.
