Thanks. All is clear now. Carry on with what you had planned guys. There is always room for more that one interpretation of an item.

Apologies for any offense

Post by Pusscat3 »

Hello all,

Oops I appear to have trod on some toes unintentionally, I can only apologise for my lack of ettiquette in the ways of these things. To be honest I have so little time to get anywhere near the computer, the forums are indeed new to me, and I did not realise it was good form to announce one's intentions to model a particular item of rolling stock. I hope you will accept my apologies for any 'bad manners' which I may have exhibited. Is there a guide to traimsim 'nettiquette' posted anywhere so I may bring myself up to speed on this without causing further upset?

Yes indeed I agree, my offerings are rather primitive - I am a beginner at this but, having arrived at some rolling stock which actually works and, to my eye at least, is tolerable, it was simply my intention to contribute something to the community which so willingly and pleasingly shares many people's creations. I would be happy to remove my uploads from the server if they represent a problem to others, as it is not my intention to annoy anybody. There are a few currently awaiting approval which may cause problems due to duplication of effort, so I shall cancel those now just in case.

My own personal feeling is that there is room for as many people's interpretations of a particular item of rolling stock as are willing to contribute. Once again, many apologies.

No need to cancel anything Norm. Variety is what we need.

Hi

Post by Pusscat3 »

Hi Sam and David,

Thanks for the welcome :D I have shoo-ed the family away from the computer for once (after trying, and failing, with logical arguments along the lines of "well who pays for the thing anyway?" hehe) and have been making time to have a look through the topics - I suspect I will need quite a while to catch up on everything!

No worries, I was annoyed with myself for having done something which, had the situation been reversed, would have had me a bit miffed too! I'm still at the 'oh wow, it actually works, I can do this!' stage like a dog with two tails regarding being able to make content for MSTS. My model of 10800 was a disappointment because I had to take loads of detail like handrails off the body and filler caps off the bogies in order to get it to work without locking MSTS up - I guess it was originally too complicated. Actual spoked wheels on the Class 16 were totally beyond my ability to work out how to do it!

I'm also aware that I've been able to download stuff for my own amusement but have never contributed anything, so uploading seemed like a good idea at the time.

Yes, I would be pleased to see the pics of 8233 if that's possible David. I've been working from a very old Ian Allan book of plans published when they were actually running in traffic, all b&w pics so colour is hard to estimate.

Hi Sam,

Okey dokey, I give up - what is a PM? I have come across AM's, we have AM's here in Wales (Assembly Members), but PM's... oh god, don't tell me Tony Blair is lurking somplace in my house?! I don't think the council pest control people work on a Sunday evening hehe
