3d Max Boolean cut problem question

Post by CaptainBazza »

I've tried the above facility and it's great for cutting holes in shapes. However, the cuts cause minor 'blemishes' in the cut shape, which are picked up by doing the STLCheck. I have not found any reference to repairing these blemishes. Can anyone please help?

Its just a side effect from using Boolean sadly. Best way to make holes is to model them, and not cut them :/

Much the same thing happens in 3D Canvas when using boolean operations. Applying the Crease operation in 3DC helps a bit, but I do not know if there is a similar operation in 3D Max.

I'm not arguing (just explaining why I'm right).

Sad isn't it, because boolean cuts are so very useful. The fact it doesn't work properly - why aren't I surprised. Thank you for the responses. Meanwhile, back to the :drinking:
