I have been trying to save disk space by compressing all uncompressed .s files using ffedit.
Unfortunately, on quite a few of them, I keep getting the error message "Failed to load file", followed by a parameter (Line/offset), followed by a number.
Can anyone enlighten me as to why this is happening, and how I can combat it?

Have you got the modified newshape.bnf file that is needed to compile files with animation?

Hi Ian,
No, I haven't got that item.
Where can I get it? ; and what do I do with it when I do get it?

email me and I'll send it over. It replaces the file you will already have, and the the compiler/uncompiler will work with animated models.

I know that the guy who fixed the file was a bit worried about uploading it anywhere because it is basically a Kuju file with only a couple of lines modified. It is only 17kb so I don't mind emailing it to whoever asks for it though.

The latest version of Route-Riter will compress any selected .s files for you, it uses the ffeditc_unicode.exe files on your PC, but modifies newshape.bnf on the fly so that it works OK with animated files.

i have had no probs with ffeditc_unicode.exe compresing .s files with animation in, the most frames i have used so far is 3600 frames @ 1fps not the defualt 30fps(1 hour).
