Can anyone advise me, I'm hove no idea where to start!!! I would like to create my own trains for MSTS, most things seem to be catered for so I am after creating an accurate model Class 507/508 in use with Merseyrail (rather than a repainted Japanese series 2000). Can anyone advise the easiest/best programs for creating trains for a complete beginner to this????
Many thanks in advance for any advice recieved!!!!

Modelling for TS can be very satisfying, but prolonged exposure can be injurous to your mental health
Two modelling progs to consider IMO, 3d Canvas Pro ($$) and GMax with MSTS plug-in (free). TSM ($$) is another, although users find it has limitation in some respects and say it is not well supported by the developer.
You also require a good Paint prog, such as Paint Shop Pro 7.
And that my friend, is just the start.........

I agree with Captain Bazza, get a copy of 3D Canvas (
http://www.amabilis.com) then go to the 3D Canvas page on this site and follow Decapod's tutorial on building a steam locomotive.
Once you have completed that exercise, you should not have too much trouble building the Class 507/508. Getting it perfect is another matter and depends on your artistic ability with the paint program.

Thanks for all your suggestions and advice, I've just downloaded 3D Canvas........If I create a successful attempt at a 507/508, I will upload it to UK TrainSim!!!
Many thanks!
