Two buttons for two tone horn - hows it done??

Post by 25244 »

I have The NSE Class 465 by Dave Babb/James Horgan. I LOVE the two-tone horn thing where the horn button is the low tone and the bell is the high tone. Can someone tell me the secret of how it os done? I'd like to apply it to all my BR Locos (using various custome WAVs). I might even upload the patches for various locos should you like me to :D

Also is it possible to make holding the bell buttin cause a loop of the soud as holding the horn does? I know there is possibly one loco where the bell only rings while you hold the buttin down. Is there a loop facility on the bell? Or does it just repaeat the WAV (still doable but I'd have to make a seamless repaeable WAV which is not as easy)

Thanks in advance.

I was only thinking the other day how good it would be if the bell was used for the second tone of the horn - then if you have a raildriver console you can program the horn lever to play the horn one way and bell the other - and have it just like real!

I'm sure its all done in the SMS - sound associations, looping, etc. Best ask in the sounds forum rather than here I guess.

Take a look at the Networker / RW 66 sounds, they are two tone..

If you press SHift+B, it only ringed once if it was on a loop bell train.
