I was just wondering, is anyone considering making a class 70 powerhaul? Is anyone also thinking of reskinning the class 86/90 into the new freightliner livery?

Someone was going to do a Class 70 sometime last year, and has posted in the fourm, but unfortunately we've never heard of the progress very recently, and looks like I might be for the job (Except that I'm too busy doing a tram project for Scottish Central Plus)!

You know you want to Ali.

Forget about the old rubbish & give us some more modern stock :-)

In my opinion there is a place for both old and new items of rolling stock and loco's, quite few of us think new loco's are a load of rubbish,my prefered era is from 1960 to 1975 where you can have a mixture of diesel and steam and electric.

What can modern image give you a few refurbished DB Schenker Cl60's.cl66's, probably the most numerous of all diesels Cl67,Cl57,a handful of class 86,Electric same for class 90's and a full fleet of 91's,HST's and a Variety of different DMU/Emu.

Mind you Geoff you could always try your hand and make one,Just out of hand how many Cl70's are here and besides Freightliner who else operates them.

I've never seen one go through Peterborough, now and again a CL67 and the odd Cl60 other than that it's all 66's,on the passenger side it's HST,Cl91,FCC EMU's,and 153/158/170,I know both Hull Trains and Grand Central come through but I don't know what they use as I haven't seen one of their trains for ages

Well let's see if anyone can "break the back of this one" - not wishing to "drop" anything here!!!!!!

Variety is the spice of life - as mentioned elsewhere let your imagination run free - in the world of train simulation we can perhaps imagine a world where Richard Beeching never existed . . . .

There are currently 12 Class 70s in the UK, 10 operational and 2 'sidelined', one permanently. Only Freightliner operate Class 70s at the moment, on both Heavy Haul and Intermodal flows, but I have read rumours that GBRf are considering a future purchase. HTH Dave.
