Just a texture at the moment

I have not even started on a shape file for this, but it is a vehicle I have been meaning to work on for a long time. There is something strangely attractive about it.

Hi Darwin,

Nice artwork,

Very close... but not quite.

Cardean is working on some Caley Pullmans and I hope to reskin some for LMS days.

Like the Caley Pullmans this is a vehicle that worked on the Highland section for many years in LMS days. (Also like the Pullmans this one had individual chairs..)

Hi Darwin,

GSWR 12 wheeler?

Now I know what you meant by elaborate liveries :)

John.

Yes that it is the Whitelegg GSWR dining car.
Actually that one was originally an 8-wheeler, but the LMS put CR pattern 12 wheel bogies onto it.

I am hoping to make both the Whitelgg dining car and the Drummond one, both of which found their way onto Highland metals in LMS days.

Coaches are easy textures compared to locomotives, a lot of cut and paste and not too many curves.

I thought it was that one... :)

Here's a look at the texture for the Caley Pullman buffet car, I'll send everything along when it's all done. :D

Hi,

These look superb. There were some 12 wheelers built c1920 rolling around on the Southern Region into the 1950s, which looked quite similar, although probably produced at Preston,Brighton. Now there's food for thought!

Regards

I am sure they would have a lot of common components I believe, although the Southern ones would have had Pullman gangways rather than British Standard suspended gangways.

The problem with Pullmans is that there were so many minor variations. Out of 22 different cars run on the Caledonian there were about a dozen variations!
