Hi Danny,
Many thanks for the Patriot at long last the missing 4-6-0 has arrived and as usaul will be entering service on BTB as I recollect that they were used on the Birmingham Bath Services,and posibly other LM routes.

That IS a nice model, the texture quality wouldn't be out of place on a more recently developed simulator! Lovely lines and perfectly proportioned. Won't look out of place at Bath Green Park!

I like the one of REME as I was in a Terratoriel REME Regiment in the late 1960's.

I passed out from Bordon in 1968 as a VM(B) and went straight to Colchester to serve with 3rd. RHA and later the 1st. RHA
Back to Bordon a couple of years later to do my VM(A) taking my driving test in a chieftain tank.
I left in 1973 after 6 tours to N. Ireland but stayed on as a regular reserve for another 12 years.
From Bordon we went on Summer leave by train on the Longmoor railway travelling down to Liss.
We also used the train to go to work while learning the upgrade to VM(A), usual motive power was the R&H 0-6-0 DH with 2 BR MK I suburbans and two ex SECR birdcage coaches.
It was that slow, it was sometimes quicker to walk.

Michael, the R.E.M.E. didn't have regiments, they are a corps of the army and usually attached to regiments as L.A.D.'s ( light aid detachments )

Hi Chris,

The unit I was in was 210 and attached to was 240 Tank Transporter Squadron RCT and based at Slough and Barnet,all we had were Land Rovers and Bedford S 4 tonners and a 6 Whell Scammell Heavy Recouvery Vehicle,The RCT unit had Diamond T's and Antars.I suppose RCT was a better name for the transport unit better than RASC or Runaway Some Ones Comming.
I was jusr a lowley craftsman.

Excellent models

The only point I would make Is I like your wheel textures on R.E.M.E and 45532, the contrast is smooth and has a good shadow detail.

In comparison with 45525 where the texture looks a little harsh and high contrast.

What did you do different? or is it just the screenie?

Mick, I always do a clean textured model first as many prefer them that way. Then I add weathering in layers so that I can provide varying degrees of dust, grime and rust. The first two have some weathering applied whereas Colwyn Bay has none.

WOW! I missed this thread Danny, too busy working on the SCP. These are excellent models and more power for the LM region. One Patriot I would like to see in MSTS is 45527 Southport, which was introduced by Ivatt in 1947 as a rebuilt Fowler version, with a tapered boiler and double chimney. Southport is where I lived during my childhood in train spotting days. This loco actually visited Southport on a special on one occasion and it was the only time I ever saw it. The most common ones seen around the North West in the late fifties, were, Bangor, Rhyl, Morecambe & Heysham & Illustrious, oh and a few unamed ones.

Martin Pope asked for this one too Geoff, but I was unable to find the crest. If anyone can locate this crest - or pic of the nameplate - then I'd certainly include it.
