Shape viewer and animations

I've notice when viewing rolling stock in shape viewer and using the animation button, some rolling stock wheels rotate and some don't. In MSTS, the non rotating wheels actually rotate.
Can the rolling stock with non rotating wheels in shape viewer be made to rotate via it's shape file or does the model need to be completely remade?

Edit
Can anything in the shape file stop certain sounds from working in MSTS? I thought at first it was the stock with non rotating wheels in shape viewer causing the sound problem but can concur now that other rolling stock with non rotating wheels in SV my sound problem in MSTS works ok. All i done was swap the shape file in the ENG file and my sound problem was fixed. Odd a shape file can cause sound problems.
Any ideals?

Thanks

Well i sort of found the problem and it's something to do with the animations in the shape file. I can fix my sound problem by having no animations in the shape file by replacing the 1 with a 0 on the first line below but would like to keep the animations if possible.

Can anyone confirm what the second entry does from the shape file :

Code: Select all

animations ( 1
animation ( 2 30
anim_nodes ( 15
Thanks

It rather depends on how the modeler did the wheels....SV doesn't animate bogie wheels, it only shows objects animated by the modeler. Bogie wheelsets are animated automatically by the sim.

Driver wheelsets are from wheels1 ~ wheels5 (animated by the modeler, how it's done depends on the modeling program).

Bogie wheelsets are from wheels11 ~ 13 (bogie1)
and from wheels21 ~ 23 (bogie2)

Bogies are animated by the sim.

Cheers Bazza

PS I just found this post, sorry for the delay.
