Will you be doing 76017 at all? That was an engine my old man used to part-own a while back.

That's a pic of it at Quainton road, where it first went after leaving Barry. Still in the black livery from when it was withdrawn. If I remember, the tender was correct but it was taken from another of the class as 76017's was only fit for scrap.

As a sidenote, being little then I had to get under the tender and used to rub off rust as I was small and could fit under there. Where was health and safety then?!

That's it when it was running at Mid Hants.

Sadly, that's how it looks now, although I'm told it's going to be restored to working order again.
The only good thing about my dad not being around anymore is he didn't see it in that state, would have broke his heart.

Edit: Pic found of it at Barry.

You will be pleased to know that the boiler is now off the frames on this locomotive and work is undergoing on her overhaul. However due to the recent fire which severely damaged the carriage and wagon works (which is next to the boiler shop) this could delay it. A new agreement has been made with both 76017 & 34105 'Swanage' which will be overhauled once 76017 is running.

Hi Dave,

I will be definatly be buying this pack, there are some really nice BR Standards there, will they come with their proper cabviews, instead of that out of date and unrealistic Scotsman one,I find useing this spoils many a fine locomotive.

Also will they be released via a down load link,or on CD through the UKTS CD ordering page?

This pack looks extremely interesting, I will definitely be interested in getting this, if only for a chance to drive the "Duke"! Excellent models as usual, by the looks of it :D

The NYMR hasn't bought the 9F. It has been bought by a Grosmont based company, the deal being spearheaded by a volunteer locomotive driver at the railway. Because of this the locomotive is now based there but it is not owned by the NYMR.

Dame Vera Lyn would require a heavy overhaul that would last several years, they have been offered to give a home to an operational locomotive.... the latter is the far more appealing decision to make don't you think? Above all 9F's are more solid than the WD's. The WD's are ideal for the NYMR but they are prone to firebox issues, infact i'm pretty certain both 90775 & 600 'Gordon' require work to theirs. 3672 has also been out of service since 1998, and i'm thinking the majority of that has been spent outside in the elements, that will not only lengthen the overhaul but increase the price.
