Bullheid Golden Arrow Locos

Post by steamnut44 »

Many thanks to Clive & Dave for introducing these WC & BB Locos in the Golden Arrow Livery. Is there any chance of doing more of these WC & BB Spam Cans and if possible some rebuilt types with the Golden Arrow depicted?

Most of these locos are only available if you have the BATS Southern Region CD/DVD and even then, only a few locos from the selection, carry the Golden Arrow Plates. Together with the BATS Golden Arrow Pullman Coaches, they really do look superb. Of course, you need the above mentioned CD/DVD to obtain these special Pullman Coaches. Even a few Merchant Navy Class Locos would also be a nice option too, with Golden Arrow Plates added. :D :D :D
Here you can see a video I made of one of Biggin Hill and the bats Golden Arrow coaches on a run from Liverpool St Station to Dover ( in 3 parts).

Hi Geoff,
Apologies if I'm wrong, but I don't think the Golden Arrow ever went from Liverpool Street!! Being a Southern train and service, I am certain it went from Victoria to Dover. Liverpool Street being Eastern Region, providing the boat trains to Harwich.

I appreciate that you may have been using 'artistic licence' in your video!

Hi Ged,
Yes you are right, but we do not have Victoria Station on MSTS during the steam era, so I used Liverpool St which was the only other alternative, apart from Waterloo.

Although the services used aren't correct Bulleids did venture onto this region in the early 50's. Three of them were allocated to Stratford for a year or so. They were 34057 'Biggin Hill' & preserved members 34039 'Boscastle' undergoing overhaul at the GCR & 34059 'Sir Archibald Sinclair' at the Bluebell Railway. Of course the latter two were rebuilt but during their time here they were still in their original air smoothed casing.
