This will be "Hengist", correct dave?

Very good looking class of locomotives, shame they were mistaken for Britannias sometimes!

I'll second Danny with that Clan Dave. I would like to see 72003 Clan Fraser & maybe 72000 Clan Buchanan ?

Keep up the good work, you are giving us some very nice locos. :D :D :D

If I remember right there was a proposal for a second batch of Clans to be built for the the Southern Region, but due to modernisation plan they were never built.

A further 15 were to be built and some of the names suggested they may operate on the southern region.

72010 'Hengist' would have been the first of this second batch but only her frames were ever built it seems. A group are trying to rebuild No. 72010 but i'm not sure how much progress has been made recently as the last update was in feb. I wish them luck but it could prove a tricky build when they have no intention on putting it on the mainline, a new pacific to me seems a bit wasted at 25mph.

It has been said she will be the 1000th BR standard designed locomotive built, but this could be argued when Standard 3MT tank No. 82045 could be completed first.
