Hi Dave,

The colour is looking very good to me, It is an awkward colour to replicate as Ash says.

I have a spare monitor which if it was any darker, it would look black.

Fine looking model

well done!

I'd say the colur was pretty good but perhaps you could reduce the saturation (depending on what programe) you're using and darken it further? Often chasing a colour match (and your's looks spot on) the saturation and density are the missing factor. When I taught colour printing we used to say "If you don't get the contrast and brightness levels right you'll chase the colour for ever!" Same with TV's. Get a good BW picture and bleed in the colour. The great thing about computers is that we always have that "undo" command to revert to the previous attempt :) .

Hope I'm not telling you what you've tried already  ???

Just downloaded both 7f's and i'm extremely impressed with the quality of them, especially 88 (how many other blue engines do you see on preserved lines today? :D )

My only bugbear would be that the tenders look a little bit Low on the frames and the rear buffers appear to be out of line with the front buffers, as ive compared the models with images of the actual locomotives.

It's not a massive problem and does not hamper the experience at all. Just thought i'd point it out. Very good work :D

Hi Dave,
Many thanks for this great loco!

One point should be made clear about the Cabview. Do NOT follow the instructions in the Cabview readme, but copy the contents of LHD_SQ_TANK_CAB into the Cabview folder of the loco; this is because a modified .ace and .cvf file is used.

As darkdj has mentioned there does seem to be a difference in the buffer heights; the front appears a fraction high and the rear (of the tender) is a smidgin low. This is from checking against a couple of random pieces of rolling stock, but, as stated, doesn't detract from the loco itself. Of more importance, appearance-wise is that the bounding box is too long, so that when using the front coupling there is a large gap between the loco and the coupled vehicle. It doesn't seem at make any difference to the ability to couple, though.

Well done - and I like the whistle!

Ged

Lovely model Dave - looks nicely at home on the WSR and I'm sure her stablemate 53809 will look eqaully so on the forthcoming S&D route.

Nice one!
