Hi Mick,

As you've learned, you cannot use SFM to shift rollingstock
- you must make the maximum and minimum Z values identical before exporting and adjust the size parameter in the wag file.

The shape viewer has an option to show the full bounding box dimensions which may help to check.

Both the loco and tender need to be properly centred

If that all fails, drop me an e-mail - I'll have a go :)

Hi Paul,

thanks for the reply,

I will go back into 3DC and check the relative z axis point positions for the front and rear of the loco. If they are wrong(not equal) I will shift the models to correct and re-export.

Thankyou for your answer.

If you have moved the entire tender backwards or forwards in TSM, for example by say 30cm, the centre of origin of the whole model will now be offset, therefore the wheel animation will also be offset by that same 30 cm and cause the 'orbit' effect. To correct this, once you have shifted the whole tender, select the part named Main and re-centre that part to origin, then re-export the model to MSTS - that should fix it !

Hi there,

It has been a while since I have posted progress with the Jumbos.

4 are finished for Scottish Central in British Railways Black Three are early crest and one with a late crest. Cardean was very helpfull with information on the prototypes. We have colaborated on an early Caledonian version in both passenger and goods liveries for a project which Cardean is working on.

First the stunning Caledonian Blue airbraked passenger version. Sorry I have not got any air braked Grampian coaches in my trainset.

There have been quite a few changes made to the model to create the early appearance

Now the smartly lined black goods version

Keep tabs on the Scottish Central thread in "Route Building" to know when the British Rail versions are available.

Brilliant work, Mick. I love the Caledonian versions - these locos really suit both the blue and black liveries.

Not an out of the question request. Once I have got to the end of my current project work I will take a look.

As I have worked on the ex-Caley loco models, I have come to greatly admire their simple elegant lines and striking liveries.

Cardean has done a great job with the lining and with thanks used your number scripting and crests. So you can take some credit for the final appearance of the Caley versions.
