Changing File name of a route

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Hi Bob
You need to edit the route 'xxx.trk' file.
If you have RR, it can make a re-named copy of a route.
Cheers

If the only thing you want to do is change the display name, open the .TRK file in a Unicode-aware editor and alter the "Name" line under the RouteID. Generally keep this display name to 22 characters or less to ensure it's displayed in full. Spaces are ok as long as you enclose the string in quotes.

RouteID, Graphic, FileName should all be the same and preferably be the same as the TRK filename and in fact the folder name.

In the route folder itself, ACE, mkr, rdb, ref, rit, tdb, tit files should all have the same name, also preferably the same as the route folder itself.
