You can turn off the wires, but no option to remove catenary I'm afraid. Maybe at a future date.

I can't wait to get a new pc, really want to use OR. It hates my current setup!

Anyhow, UPDATE!

I sent out the final route to a number of people yesterday and had a lot of replies back, all successfully being able to install and load the route, and I now know it works on XP, Vista and W7 machines. (I had built an installer for it -- first time I ever used one of those programs).

Even better on a personal note is that in previous versions, one tester was getting a shape file problem every time I zipped up the route folder and sent it. With the installer, that shape file problem is no longer there, so I'm delighted on that front.

I'm off to work shortly and will leave the route uploading to UKTS, it's then in the laps of the UKTS gods as to when it comes out. I've only got one act ready, all the rest need a final run-through and packaging, so I'll work on them in the evenings. A number of other testers also have acts they are working on so expect to see a load go up over the coming weeks/months.

I really hope you all enjoy the route, it's taken up so many hours of my life these past few years and I'm looking forward to taking a step backwards after this and taking time to enjoy some of the routes I've not had time for. I have SCE but not explored it, and haven't even had a chance to purchase GE2 yet! There's also NWC and a host of freeware routes I've not even looked at! :o

My advice is if you don't like the route, delete it and move on!

INFO:
Just to note the route file size (packaged) is about 240mb, it will be uploaded as a single installer file (and you can change the location it's installed to).

There will not be a CD/DVD version. Sorry, but it's due to permissions with certain shape files. I replaced a lot but there's still a number which prevent this happening.

As mentioned above in the thread, you won't be able to remove the OHL masts on this version. This is because the old batch file no longer works. If I ever get round to replacing the last of the old masts then I shall seek help with creating a new batch file. Sorry steam fans! If anyone can help build some replacement masts for me, please get in touch!

For the time being, UKTS is the only place I'll be uploading the route, although that might change in the future.

Finally, I've said it many times before but I'll say it again: Do not install any acts for V2 on V3, they will not work and every path will be broken. Also, if you have a Glas-Car folder in your routes folder, remove it before you install; either delete it or archive it somewhere. Writing V3 over V2, or having both installed will cause you major problems.

I will be re-working as many as I can of myV2 acts for V3. You should only download acts which are in the V3 folder. I've also asked all previous V2 authors to re-work their acts for V3, but a number have left MSTS.

I really urge you to use the latest bin patch for this route, some of the areas have very intensive scenery (ie Cathcart Cirlce). Also, if you have problems with spads on acts, try using t-section 38 instead of 41.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and support, it means a lot to me. If you like the route, please try to post some pics and videos, and even try writing an act or two!

If I ever do enough scenery placement that I feel justifies a patch/upgrade, I will upload it.

Regards,

Niall

Seeing that this route will soon be available I feel reinvigorated to start and finish my Class 126/Swindon IC DMU sets in BR Green, etc.

Look forward to adding this to my route folder.

Thank you Niall in advance, and I know that I won't be disappointed.

All the best, Alec

I am a premium member, but have only got a T-mobile dongle connection at the moment, so it'll take over 12 hours to download :( but it'll be well worth the wait I'm sure :)

Does anyone know of a workaround for this download speed restriction (5kb sec) the dongle downloads from most other sites much quicker than this.
Regards
Mark.

Hi Niall

Downloaded & Installed GLAS2CAR V3 and I am very impressed indeed.

I then downloaded your Activity NG01 Neilston to Glasgow Central and installed it and ran the first 15 Minutes and all I can say is "WOW" - what a difference all your Hardwork has made

I have also set up GLAS2Car V3 as a Mini-Route as I prefer this mode of Operation with MSTS.

Well Done Niall

It's good to see V3 finally available as a download, even if only in Beta form.

I use a dongle connection, obviously not as fast as BT Digital or Virgin cable, but a file this size, on premium subscription, would take less than 2 hours.
