It really is not as bad as I had thought it would be - I am driving random activities in V6 to cover as much of the route as I can as a way of testing the new signals and speed limits, and so far I am hitting about an 80% success rate. They maybe all don't run exactly as the author intended, but give a perfectly acceptable drive.

Its only the very complicated activities, that rely on interaction with other AI traffic and have wait points, reverse points etc. that the signal re-positioning is causing problems.

Thats the plan, but as Laurie (LAD491) has already discovered, the very complicated activities can often take as long to correct as it did to originally write them!

You've done a complex route for MSTS as far as most add-ons are concerned, so for an 80% success rate thats something! The up to date activities, will feature more Desiro driving as well as past services using 455s and older BR rolling stock, or not sure as yet. Either way great work, looking forward to it :)

hello all, i was just wondering if in the future there will be a dorset coast version 7?

that could feature the lines up to bristol and down to exeter so stations like westbury, bath, pinhoe, wimple, honiton, and axminister could be included in the wonderful route?

and also is the yeovil pen mill branch included in version 6?

The idea to include all these line sounds great, but I personally think having so many lines in one route can only cause problems?

Dave's idea for Dorset Coast was to cover all the SWT stations / routes, so I think Yeovil is the limit. (I believe Pen Mill is included but he will confirm). Technically it should be extended to Exeter therefore, but I believe that line is single track and so, with limited activity possibilities I think he decided to stop at yeovil. As always he will confrim if Im talking bilgewater.

LOL Laurie.

Yeovil Pen Mill is not included, but you are correct about the extension from Yeovil Junction to Exeter - 50 miles of single track, not much fun to drive. I cannot see there being a Version 7 at this stage as I have about 6 months work to sort out activities for the V6 DVD, also I am involved with various commercial routes, which may be extended at some point.

dave is it posible that once the line has been upgraded from single track to double in the axminister area later this year to help us run a better service to exeter you might develop that part of the line down to exeter? or is yeovil as far down as that way this route will see itself going?

says it all really. At present, V6 is the end. Dave has other projects to work on, but who knows in future.

That would certainly help with regard to writing more interesting activities, but will have to see how my available time is.

I wouldn't mind an extension to Exeter as there is double track after honiton to Exeter, but of course if there was ever an extension for v7 and had the choice, I'd say come up my way and go to BTM

Of course Salisbury to Sherbourne is pretty much single all the way, but isn't bad when your storming at 85mph.

cheers,

James.
