It has been said a million times before, next year. Though now I think Dave deserves to delay it until 2011, if people keep asking!davejc64 wrote:Does anybody know when the DVD for this route will be available?

Re: Dorset Coast V6
It has been stated numerous times on this forum (and within this topic) that it will be a while as there is a lot of testing to be done for the activities.
When the DVD is done, no doubt there will be an announcement on the main UKTS page to state that it is available.
Personally I think that this topic should either be locked or reserved exclusively for any issues that people may have encountered with the d/l version so that Dave & Co can work on the DVD and any patches that may be required. Endless speculation as to how long it will be is pointless.

Re: Dorset Coast V6
Well said,
The date is next year, but that all depends. I have a load of 1981 activities to add to the v6 DVD, and then give a helping hand with activity testing, which will take a lot of my time and depends when I can get it done.

If you want to run down from Yeovil to Exeter and beyond you could always try "the Withered Arm" for a bit of fun. - Dick.

Great Western? Is'nt that the branch line that joins the Southern at Reading?

Re: Dorset Coast V6
The Withered Arm was realy good route for it's time just a pity there weren't many activities made for it,seems strange how some routes end up with loads of activities made for them and others hardly any,I think at the time this one came out there weren't the number of good Southern Loco's that are now available.
I'm not sure where it started North of Exeter, but I know you can go right through to Padstow, and some of the branches as well,I would say have a look at it if your nterested in Southern, also if I remember there were some Western Region parts as well.

Re: Dorset Coast V6
I like both routes but Dorset coast is quite acurate to the real thing
anyway Yeovil to Exeter is the fun bit as the route is a bit like a rollercoaster
Crewkerne - Axminster Then the climb of Honiton Bank then down hill to Exeter
great fun loco hauled with a 50 or 33

Re: Dorset Coast V6
Honiton bank was even more fun with a Bulleid light pacific trying to climb the bank in wet weather, mind you even when the cl50's were climbing the bank from Seaton Junc they had a job.
My mum used to live near the railway,in Honiton and you could hear them climbing the bank, and some of the realy did struggle, the Cl33 always lost time going up the bank if they were standing in for a 50 or 47.

In steam days Blue Peter stalled on Honiton Bank had to be banked by the Seaton Branch loco

Will the new DVD have the reskined class 442s available I know they're not used on the SWT network anymore but as an updated replacement for the current ones used?
Thanks

Re: Dorset Coast V6
There is a batch being written by myself. The 1981 ones will now feature as a download which the first is a 1981 freight activity bundle. The second pack also being written is 'Tours of the millennium' featuring tours between the very late 90's and just past the new millennium (the tours being the real ones that have ran before in those years). both will take in the old and new areas.
I am surprised no one has made use of the 158/9 now available. I asked Anton nicely if he would make such model as it would fit very well for modern day 3 car 158 acts between Salisbury and Pompey
