Swansea Route crashes MSTS

Post by 40058 »

Downloaded and installed Swansea route...followed instructions and
MSTS came up with that error message "send info to microsoft"
changed Tsections, same result the best I got was a failed to load track
database...anyone else get that?

Cheers,

40058.

PS - Good job I backed up my TRAINSET folder..took me two days solid
to reinstall that!

Yeah I did....its something to do with tsection as I've resolved the MSTS crash by reinstalling X-tracks 3.1 putting everything back to how it was but the route won't work (ie trains won't move)...I'm now on the hunt for X-tracks 3.3

40058 - and others.

I had the same problem - swapped tsection.dat files over etc etc etc

I installed the four magnetic platform sets, still no joy, until.......

I installed Tsection v00010.zip which apparently one needs if one has X-Tracks installed. This little fella pops a nice shiny new tsection.dat file into the Global folder - and hey presto! IT WORKS :D
Asus Z97-K. Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4 GHz. 3GB NVidia EVGA GTX780Ti. 16GB DDR3 RAM. Sound Blaster Z. Windows 10 64 bit.

Running TS @ 3840x2160 on a 4k TV.

I'm using v0009 without the installation problems reported, wasn't even aware that 00010 had been released. I'm not so sure that xtracks and the tsection.dat file have anything to do with installation problems. Xtracks is blamed far to often because of the problems associated with dynamic track in its early days.

The tsection.dat file supplied by John should give no problems with his route. However, where you may run into trouble is using another route which has been built or modified using later versions of the tsection.dat file and xtracks, hence the reason for constantly updating the Global tsection.dat file, not the individual route one.

Its advisable to have the latest tsection.dat installed whether you run xtracks or not,the latest is v00010 from train-sim.com.

The latest xtracks release is v3.3 also at train-sim.com
