game freezing at same tile

Post by grahamrfd »

Ive laid approx 1/3 of the route track but when I run a train it has started freezing and crashing the game at the same place every time. This is the start of a new tile but one with very little scenery so it isn't overloaded.I'm begining to remember now why MSTS has spent the last year or so not being used.Time to get the hornby back out I think.

Don't give up, it take's a little practice and time to get used to using RE, I took me nearly a year to be abled to use it without crashing every ten minute's?!

What error message is it reporting, it could be the track which has a problem, or any recently placed road's. sometime's even carspawners.

Just a few of the common problem's.

Have you backed-up your route. I suggest after you lay several mile's of track you back-up, naming the backup's by date/time/routefolder.

I am sure some of us kind souls can help you.

It may take time though.

I set up another activity in the opposite direction and the train ran through the tile no problem so i replaced the original activity but the same thing continues to happen. There isn't an error message just freezes up for 30 secs or so then send don't send message comes up.I did do a back up and thats the same. The only thing I was doing before this happened was playing with sound regions to try to find out how to use them but i have removed these now to try and cure the problem but to no avail.Suppose its time to delete and try again.

HAVE YOU still got your Route. :)

I have got Very good news for you if it is what I think it is.

Try running the Route in Explore Mode, along the Same path.

Have you been using the Xtrack's. :)

I am, I just had a serious problem with all activities crashing in one Direction but not the other. I found that when I followed the path, in the direction the train was travelling when the Crash happened, There was a "Faulty" Crossover Item.

Once I had deleted it and Re-placed it, I could then Make Activities work in that direction. :)

another one that causes a directional crash is a route the goes to a set of points that doesnt have at least 1 straight piece after it, even if its just buffers...

routes that dont go over then work, anything that passes over them fails..
