An annoying signalling issue

Post by ARG706 »

I have an annoying situation in my route in one of the wayside yards as shown in the attached image.

I am still learning the ropes as far as signalling as concerned, but so far everything else has been tested smoothly. All signals protecting the points in the vicinity of the problem are UQ 2 arm absolute signals.

Basically the crossing loop signal will not turn green after a train heading south has passed. Despite altering the signal positions, the links, and also the track itself to correct this, nothing has prevailed and the signal always stays at red.

Thanks in advance

I also have not had much luck in getting signals to work on very short track pieces between points. Two things strike me – neither of which may be the cause of your problem!

It looks like you have two nodes very close together below the letters Ter. I would have thought there should only be one.

Have you already tried moving your problem signal south to the other side of the points, to where your first carriage is shown? That way, you will protect your path from anything coming from the left, and you should still be able to use any required links.

Regards,
Chris

As Chris has said move the signal to protect the points, but also as it is, its too close to the points, also do you have a signal in advance of this signal or is it the end of the line. Signals can be difficult to place running into single lines, Msts gets confused :D

What track system are you using?
If it's default, try subsituting the points for a set of the Modular points in X tracks... Junctions / cross overs can be achieved within a much reduced overall 'length' giving more room for efficient operation of signalling on the approaches.
Virtual Navvy for North West England & Metrolink.

Two rules to get you through life: If it's stuck and it's not supposed to be, WD-40 it. If it's not stuck and it's supposed to be, gorilla glue it.
