Running Route Riter

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Running Route Riter

Post by PWHolmes »

I am now at the point that in a day or two I will be ready to upload my first attempt at building a route for everyones enjoyment (I hope!!!!) but, in the process of building it, I have accumulated vast files of objects (buildings, signals etc) from other routes and downloads which I will squirt througe Route Riter to weed out the unused ones and shrink the Route Directory to a manageable size.

Problem: I dont want to loose all of this but to download it to a disc so that I can reload it all (and supplement it!) on my next attempt.

Can someone confirm to me what files/directories I must first archive to avoid loosing a lot of good stuff.

Your shapes folder, your textures folder and the route's ref file. And sigcfg.dat and sigscr.dat files if you intend to use the same signalling setup again elsewhere.
