MSTS UK Route Map

I have uploaded a partially completely UK Route Map with currently available UK MSTS Routes on it. I know its not complete but what I would like is if route builders can take a copy of it and update it with their Available Route or Planned Route or Route In Production and mail it back to me with some details - I will then collate them all together to produce a single map which UK MSTS users can check out - perhaps do it as an imagemap with appropriate hyper links - dunno, what do people think?

Any takers?
BigVern & DanielWilkie - I know I left off your routes, sorry!
TimCourt - Didn't know the full extent of MidEastUK, sorry too!

Nice idea, but wouldn't a historical map have been better - say about 1950? Then all the routes being built that no longer exist could have gone on it. I like the hyperlink thinking.

I agree 1950 would be best - this was the only one I could get hold of from the web - if anyone's got a better one please use it.

I'm sure I can come up with something in one of my books. Might scan in as a rather large file though, if it's to be readable.

Brilliant idea.
As soon as my route is complete I will inform you.
My route is Between Brighton and Hastings, also included is the Seaford Branch. I will also include the Hastings to Ashford route to connect with them Eurostars

I've been thinking about doing something along these lines for the site.
If someone can put together a smallish map of the UK with a basic outline of the routes (not particularly accurate necessarily due to scale) - or even just a simple colouration showing what routes are where then clicking on that colour could zoom down to a more detailed map showing the areas of the country that the route chosen actually covers.
Or if someone else has ideas i'm open to them also of course, but this seems to me to be an idea well worth getting done properly so that we can link from the map to the details of how to obtain the route and this would make routes MUCH more 'visible' to newcomers.
Matt.

Good idea
Try adding the Talyllyn Railway (already completed and uploaded by Steve Pontin).
And I'm building the Ffestiniog.

This is an absolutely brilliant Idea, Like the Hyperlink zoom idea, I will be copying the Image and will add my route to It, The Peak Line. Does not exist in total anymore. I've never seen it, only 21. 22 on sept. 27. 2002

Apologies to Northern Rail - I can't believe I left it off!!! Plus S&C and Pats S&C plus all the others.
Saddletank - do you think you could scan in your map and post it up - plus anyone else who has something appropriate - maybe a good use for a poll here. Once a map is decided on, maybe people can then paint on their route onto a copy (I pieced together 3 pixel wide lines in PSP) and send them back to a coordinator... any takers? I don't mind doing this. Matt I assume you have the HTML skills to do the imagemap hyperlink stuff?

I don't have PSP, how about we use TGATool2, convert it to an ace file with say a Transparency of a Alpha, then uncompress it to a BMP when you recieve it.

My route looks a bit pathetic on that map..
But here's an expanded map..
Don't ask me for dates, I don't have them!
