Does this mean there might be a rush of Bigger Operators swallowing up the Smaller Ones - I'd suggest that the Highworth and Swindon Railway Company should consider an alliance with Paddington Penzance or GWML to avoid this...saddletank wrote:Seeing this map I'm reminded of UK railway maps of the 1830s and 1840s where the first routes were being built and they began to join up, gradually forming a network. We even have historically 'accurate' duplicate lines (GNER Eastcoast and MidEast), two stations in the same town, railway companies (i.e. route builders) arguing over where they will build their lines and staking their claim to certain regions and warning off other competing builders.... All quite realistic really.
I wonder if the new (simpler?) route editior tools in MSTS2 will open a new period of 'railway mania'?

The image has actually come from a screenshot of the following PDF - grab this PDF and the others that it links to if you want higher resolutions...

If I had the ability to update PDF's I would try and edit this one instead of updating a JPG

Each of the routes on the map ive created is on a seperate layer in a photoshop file, so they can be easily added to and erased. Also each route can be switched on and off depending what you want to see, as some routes overlap.
If you refresh the map, it should now contain the missing section of MidEast UK, aswell as the removal of GNER East Coast temperarily.

As others have already stated, this is an on-going map, and requires help from route authers. If you know the extents of the route, it would be highly apprecitated if you downloaded the map and drew it on urself, then sent the section you drew back to me so i can add it properly to the map.slugmaster wrote:There are some routes missing.
Inverness to Wick/Thurso, Fort Bill to Mallaig and Stranraer to Ayr.

You've got to get up past Doncaster first before York Tim! Other than Shireoaks, the other Eastern extremities of Woodhead suitable for 'linkup' are Wath (the line from Mexborough) and Peni5tone (the L&Y line from HuddersfieldTimcourt1 wrote:Hmmmmm- Not that far to york is it, I feel a trip to the pennines coming on - how about another link up steve?
I'm getting quite into the Western End again now - Exchange Station has come into range of my radar...

It covers that area but i dont think it goes to Nottingham. The accuracy of the map to show all railway lines means to cover that area ive had to draw along those lines.ADRIANBASHTON wrote:When looking at the latest map it appears that the Mid East route now covers Nottingham & the Robin Hood Line to Worksop.
If this is the case does anyone know the file ID from where this "add on" to an already superb route can be obtained?
Thanks
