Midland Mainline Part 1: West Hampstead to Luton

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Midland Mainline Part 1: West Hampstead to Luton

Post by photons66 »

Keep an eye out for this one. This is my first venture into route building using MSTS and its going really well. For complexity reasons, St Pancras/Kentish Town have not been modelled and, apart from the trackwork, there's just some very basic scenery (such as roads depicting the North Circular/M1). It should be ready by March 2008.
Thanks

Thanks guys. Watch this space and I'll upload some screenshots of a) the yard between Hendon and Cricklewood (does anyone know what this is called)? and the Hendon flyovers to the north of Hendon station, just before what was Scratchwood services.

Great news. The yard is just Cricklewood I think.

Slight technical problem guys. When I try and select the route to test it from the route selection menu, the simulator crashes. Any ideas?

Yep, good luck - hope it goes (relatively) smoothly, cos we all know what a hindrance RE can be

With regards to the technical problem, I have been unable to test the route in MSTS so you won't get any screenshots with 319s or HSTs, but I will upload screenshots of work in progress from the RE, just there will be no trains!!!

Might it be worth a try to use Train Store and only unstore your route?

Perhaps just use MSTS to "test" your route building skills.
Remember, by the release date you have given, KRS will more than likely be in full flow. I am not saying you should give up - no way, just remember about the other things that are coming ever so soon.

A little off topic, but the same thing:
I haven't got Windows Vista yet, and I feel sorry for those who have. Microsoft announced they are releasing another Operating System in 2010 - I am pretty sure I can hold out till then and never bother to get Vista at all saving me a good £350 (I would only buy the best version, which is around £350). Just something to bear in mind.
i want to be uploaded

Hi Photon the sidings are "Brent Sidings"

Great Western? Is'nt that the branch line that joins the Southern at Reading?

Thanks Dikidee. Critical update on the route. I've done as far as Hendon so I should have some detailed screenshots of the sidings. WATCH THIS SPACE PPL!
