Yet another basic question for you experts from a absolute beginner at Route Building!!! (Again "HELP" wasn't any help at all!!!!!)
How do I rotate track sections. Ive extracted my geometry (I told you it was basic, didn't I??), laid my first piece of track, but it lies North-South and I want it to go East - West.
The so-called HELP file says just select the track piece and click on the "Rotate" tool and drag the track to the required location.
Useless!!!!!
I get a little nucleus symbol with "xy" next to it (obviously meaning rotation in the xy plane and the tack just juggles up and down around one end for about +/- 10 degrees.
Why is the help in MSTS usually no help at all???

How do I rotate track sections????
Tried that. The only arrow keys I have on my laptop make the camera zoom around and do no rotate the track.

Place a piece of track (the end where you positioned the cross is fixed).
Go to the vertical position with your camera and scroll as necessary until you see the other end of the piece of track (free end),
Select rotate and place the nuclear shaped (I liked that description) cursor over the free end.
With the mouse drag the end of the track either left or right to the position you want, at the same time keeping the end level (horizontal) by ensuring the cordinates in the the elev:window, in the Object dialogue box, continue to read zero, by moving the cursor up or down on your screen as required.
To put a gradient to the track it is this same feature you use.

You want the arrows that are on the num pad of a normal keyboard - does the laptop have a "numlock" button and some alpha keys with numbers also printed on them? - try thesePWHolmes wrote:Tried that. The only arrow keys I have on my laptop make the camera zoom around and do no rotate the track.
