Aligning hedges and fences
Trying to align hedges and fences on my route is causing much frustration and problems. Does anyone have any advice on this please? Thanks.

Pressing the "End" key and using the keypad numbers allow you to refine the positioning of the object, which may help if you are putting each piece in manually.
Another option is to make it a "gantry" object - to auto place it along the route if you are having to put down large amounts of the same fencing/hedge. I am not fully clued up on this, so don't know exactly how to do this (but I know it has been done e.g. the overhead wires on Great Eastern were done this way I think), someone else might be able to tell you how to do it...

See Using The Auto-Placement Function (gantry.dat) in Route Editor.DarwinS wrote:The gantry idea is great for fences and telegraph poles alongside the railway line.
I'm currently preparing a tutorial written by Geoff Forrest which shows you how to get fences along roads.DarwinS wrote:Sadly it does not work for roads, which often also need such scenic treatment when they are near to the railways!
Should be finished by the weekend.
