Electrified track, Overhead wires and Gantries

Hi, I was just wondering if it was possible to have half a route with overhead wires and the rest of it third rail, also how do you prevent gantries from being along track in certain areas?

Remove them or don't add them in the first place

Re: the overhead wires question, I'd suggest having a read of http://steam4me.railpage.org.au/trainsi ... ewire.html as a possible way to remove the overhead wires from the areas that you don't want to use them in.
