Animating new Level Crossing objects

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Unfortunately the techdoc for making a level crossing shape is wrong, you can't make it all in one shape unless its a single track road. You basically have to make it into two halves, ie. a gate/barrier for each side of the road. You should be able to get away with one shape for both halves, if the crossing is symmetrical.

You need 3 animation frames for the animated parts: open, closed, open again. Its essential the gate/barrier starts in the open position, otherwise it will work the wrong way.

When adding your crossing, make sure the yellow boxes are above the crossings of rail/road paths, otherwise the crossing won't detect trains.

Hi,

Cpt Bazza made the original shape, and is fairly certain it will work, however it doesnt seem to want to open or close as train approches. (it is actually an Australian Facing Trailible Points indicator with an Invisible road underneath).
