Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a way to bend track up and down so that you can build over slopes in RE? Or is this not possible?
Also I really need help on how to build tunnels, i've tried to use the tunnel building tutorial (File ID: 2695), but the TunInst.bat says it can't find file *.*, so it will won't load, i've tried using parts from other routes to patch it up without success.

The rotate tool will tilt track up and down.

If you're really interested in route building, may I suggest Michael Vone's excellent route building guide, I've found it invaluable since I bought my copy, I've managed to lay a HUGE amount of track after following the guides in there to get me accustomed to using route editor

Well, I've never built a route before in my life, save for the tutorials in that book, and I've now laid track for everywhere shown in pink on this map http://one.fox-developments.co.uk/my%20pic.bmp and additionally everything from Cheshunt to Tottenham Hale, all in two days, as well as laid track markers for a lot more, ready to be laid today, so yeah, if I could give you one piece of advice, it would be that book.

It comes in a PDF file download from the Abacus website, so you could actually have it the same day even.

Good luck with your route building :)

I can confirm that Michael Vone's book is essential if you're serious about having a go at route building.

My suggestion would be to download one of the test or demo routes and open it up in RE and have a play with adding to and modifying the track, etc. Leave creation of a route from scratch until you feel happy with track laying and scenry placement, etc.

I don't know, if you follow the whole tutorial through in the book, and you feel confident enough, give it a shotI've gone from no experience to starting my own with nothing more than that book. The important thing is to make sure you never skip past a bit you don't understand, tackle it section by section until you grasp the concepts, then move onto the next section and you'll be flying :)
