Not sure what you were alluding to there, Jon, but I'm intrigued!

Having been busier than usual with work lately I've not had much opportunity to do an awful lot with the route, but today I did knock up - for the fun of it - some very low-poly WIAs which just sit in the sidings. More for effect, really, and from a distance they don't look so bad. The driver of 66079 had a bit of a shock when he found he couldn't actually couple up to them.

nice if you are putting in scenery wagons make sure the sctivity creators know where they are and put full next to the siding name so we dont have to drive through them.

I'm not sure how permanent they are likely to be, but point taken - thanks.

If you have been looking at the Monthly news letters at MT, then you will have seen some Autoballisters sufacing over there. Its taken slightly longer to finish them (Summers got in the way) but im hoping soon they will be on release. Then depending on wether MSTS is afloat will depend upon what happends to the remainder of goodies we have around.

Thanks, Jon. Whatever comes from the MT stable in the way of wagons is worth looking forward to.

Depends how much of the stock can be formulated into packs
I have a lot of add on stuff which i have intended on heading for a FSF event, including some Real Life skins and some additional loads for the FFA FGAs and some OBA/OCAs, including modern day and a revamp of the existing, supplied with GE. We have just released a petroleum pack with a New TEA and TTA model in and there are a couple more awaiting clearance. Im hoping MSTS will live on longer as we are trying to wade through the wagons list but our spare time is lacking lately.

As for FSF im sure there were murmors about it, i will check with the powers that be and try and push it forward. If nothing else, might ask for a Advent calender again, but with input from all of MT?

You have done an amazing job so far. I look forward to playing it, but dont rush it for anyone, its your route, your life, your time.

Thanks for the feedback - your kind comments are much appreciated :)

Progress continues albeit at a slower pace. This is largely because the main features are 'accounted for' and it's all the nitty-gritty detail in between stations and junctions which remains. I've been playing around with various terrain textures (largely following a bit of feedback made in this thread - feedback is so useful) to see if I can improve the look of the landscape around the track.

Plus I confess I've been sidetracked a little with looking at Rail Simulator - primarily because i wanted to see how the Oxford route has been rendered (I think I'll post some detailed comments on that on my blog).

Finally, thanks to dee4141 for his excellent reskins of Tim Court's 50, as 50013 and 50017 - I've had fun playing around with them between Oxford and Didcot:

Very nice pictures, Michael. I particularly like the lineside vegetation. Have you thought of using the autogantry lineside fencing UKTS ID 3809? - this uses the RE auto gantry placement feature to allow you to automatically insert lineside fences. It will place fences along both sides of the line on whichever tile you happen to be on. Of course, you then have to delete unwanted fences over bridges or alongside sidings but this is much easier than trying to place the fences by hand. I'm using it but have changed the fence texture to simple post and wire rather than the chain link that the model comes with.

I also like the corn? field where the grid tower is placed. I haven't yet tried it myself but I think you can use alpha channels with terrtex files to get the edges to blend smoothly to the next terrtex.

Anyway, keep up the excellent work. I'm behind you all the way, though in terms of scenery placement, pretty far behind. :D

Thanks, Martin. Yes, I have used the autogantry feature though it's by no means everywhere yet. I've been experimenting with using various fences which I've created myself and the autogantry settings themselves, to make the placement look realistic. All good fun!

I still watch developments on your route with much interest, and your support is reciprocated :)

Re autogantry as mentioned by Martin: I forgot to mention that I've been using this for placement of lineside foliage too - you can see it a bit in the second shot above.
