Re: Oxford route
Thanks for the photos, Jon. Yes, there are three cooling towers - on the whole site there are actually two groups of three, plus a tall chimney. I've got them all though only two are visible in that last shot. The trouble is they're a long way back from the track so don't show up in distance shots. There might be a case for bringing them closer to the track so they show up better.

Re: Oxford route
Here's progress so far. The map shows the extent of the route and the colour coding indicates what's complete in terms of stations. The only outstanding bit of trackwork is the Cowley branch. Signalling is barely in place as yet.champy wrote:Excellent. When you get 5mins , would you please post a map of the route so far?

Re: Oxford route
I've now started work adding detail to Hinksey Yard/'Virtual Quarry'. One of the main features not presently available is a set of WIAs for the daily Mini train - the train is reversed in the yard after coming from Cowley and I regularly see it on my way back to Oxford after meetings in London. I posted in the rolling stock forum a short while back to see if anyone can point me in the direction for getting hold of some WIAs, but the only source I'm aware of is the 'Great Electrics' pack from First Class Simulations, and I don't really want to invest in that just for the sake of the wagons! So if anyone fancies building some let me know
Otherwise I could have a go at knocking up static versions to add to Hinksey or to Cowley sidings just for the sake of it. (I use SketchUp for all my modelling; alas, it has no animation facility.)
Here are some pics of the yard as it currently looks:

Re: Oxford route
Im loving this route more and more
Maybe in the Future you could goto Coventry and Birmingham Snow Hill in the North and Reading in the southeast and to Swindon in the southwest.
The links would be then
WCE > Your Route > DCv4 (or 5) > GWML v2

Re: Oxford route
Looking wonderful as ever, have you thought about changing the ground texture? Im really not a fan of that one, i think Kuju went a bit overboard with the bright green blotchiness lol
