A Route From Portsmouth to winchester, and southampton
i've seen a lot of talk about people wanting to build a route from Portsmouth Harbour to Winchester, Southampton, And Weymouth. i'm all for this idea, execpt one thing, i've never built a route before!! i'm willing to learn and to help if other {experienced people will help} i've got some great ideas for activities and so would love this very railway scenic route{fratton,eastleigh, baltic sidings, northam, millbrook etc}

I hate to disappoint you Edmund but the Dell was nowhere near the railway line and anyway, it is now an upmarket housing estate.
The shiny new "Friends Provident St. Mary Stadium" however does lie alongside the main line. Incidentally there is a new rolling stock works being built on the sidings at Northam.
If I felt ready to tackle route building I would start at Northam level crossing and work outwards. The hours I have wasted over the years sat there waiting for those bl**dy gates to go up.
Regards
Dave
