Hi everyone,
I am wondering if there is any possible way that I could create a 5 track yard without the use of any single piece of dynamic track. There is no X tracks involved with the route.
If there is a way, Can someone tell me how I should proceed in creating the yard?
Thanks,
Eaglefan

It would probably take a judicious amount of juggling with standard track pieces - a lot of experimentation, but it should be possible.
I did similar things with finescale - though the results are still unpublished and sitting on my PC across the pond.
Apart from Michael's test piece in the route building guide, I've never used standard trackage anyway, so I can't be certain, but it ought to be possible; you just have to be a little flexible with regard to final dimensions

I would doubt it could be done easily. Part of the EKLR I was trying to build was a 7-track set of loop sidings that ran through the pit washers at Tilmanstone colliery. I gave up and set it back to 4 sidings because I was running out of width and length with the larger track-centre spacing, but I recall that none of the loops I laid were made just using normal track pieces, I was always flipping the view around so that I could lay a piece of dynamic track so that it bent naturally in a left-hand direction.
UK Finescale, by comparison, is an absolute joy to use, and it's so much nicer to be able to replicate the incredibly tight and compact track layouts in the cutting at Shepherdswell and the hillside nook at Richborough Castle.

Buiding Yards
Hi,
I have just spent 3 weeks building a complicated yard based on a track plan circa 1898 of Darlington. I have used Finescale and although it has been time consuming the result is a good representation of the real thing. There are enough pieces of track to fit any plan, but you have to spend time finding the piece that fits. It can be done, but I sometimes wonder if I should just wait for the new sim to be released because it looks a lot easier to route build. I'm sure the new version will be out before I've finished my route.
Good luck,
Steve
