The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Now one of the smaller stations thru the line... "Fliesberg" (Do you reqognize what the name was in original...? )

The layout contains only two tracks, and a warehouse sidetrack.

Regarding activities... There will be a completely new set of activities. All trackplanning and signalling is done due to create intresting activities, with lots of other traffic. The planning of the whole lyout is done to gain lot of traffic. The route is "breathing" much better. But still, it is of course situations where you need to wait for other traffic to leave your path...

Innarvet Norra

Post by Mazzz »

Back to the big city.. The freight swithing yard in Innarvet Norra:

Image
THe freight train that comes from LLJ, is going under the passenger tracks, to not disturb that traffic.

Image
View from the passenger tracks... In the middle, the electric locos is having their service done, espesially the Iron ore locos.

Image
Image
Image
When the design contest was done, LLJ received 4 heavy diesel locomotives for the Iron Ore traffic. They have now been put into active duty.

Image
The freight station consists of 11 tracks, all enaught long to carry the iron ore trains.

The track going to the left, is where the freight trains from SJ south arraives to Innarvet, due to that they need to cross the SJ line to get to the right side.

Kirvik line

Post by Mazzz »

Back in business...

Away from the big city the LLJ rail roaders continue their work at the side line "Kirvik line". This line is crossing an even smaller line and total number of stations on this sideline is 6.

Here som picture from "Kvicksele" where the small lines cross each other:

Image
The left line is the smallest line, only 4 passenger train on a day..

Image
The station house is located between where the lines split.

Innarvet C

Post by Mazzz »

The south part of Innarvet C is now done on LLJ. Still, the focus is on laying the tracks, so there is still lots of things to do on the scenery...

Image
This picture is between "Innarvet North" and "Innarvet C". Here we actually is going on the old tracks fron Innsbruck route... The track to the left is an old and closed track, now replaced with other ways to the end town for LLJ.

Image
The central station consists of four platforms, since LLJ is crossing the state line here, and is having rather high traffic density. Freight train tracks is to the most right.

Image
There is not so many switching possibilitys on the south sida of Innarvet C. The trackplanning is done so the trains are comming already to the appropiate track already before they approach the central station.

Small update

Post by Mazzz »

I have reached for me an important milestone in the work with LLJ. The whole trackplanning is done for the Innarvet part:

Image
It is a rather large town, with several trackyards. I started this session in May, but have during the time taking some breaks with work in other areas of the route.

For the moment, the focus is on tracklaying. The goal is to be done with that, and signalling excercises so I can enter the Beta 1 period. There are two beta sessions planned, the first one will cover the "technical" parts, as track functional areas, signals placed in a proper way, activities is going well, etc.. The second beta session, is just before release, and hopfully only cosmetic issues will be found during that session.

Image
This is the north side of Innarvet C. As you see, the environement department still have a lots to do here...

Thanks! When planning this route, I very much plan it from traffic aspects, which affects how and where the tracks and switches needs to be placed...

So, there will be simular plans for all the different type of traffic when the route will be released. Most of them will be player playable.

Image
Here the iron ore traffic flow is illustrated. Sorry for the strange language.. :) Promise, I will create all documentation and descriptions in english...
Here we see that it will be 15 fully loaded iron ore trains from two locations per day.. And, of course they need to go back, as well...
(well.. at least the vision is 15... Maybe I need to split them out during the full 24 hour avaible.. So, take it as preliminary,,)

Other traffic pattern are cement plants at "Kirvik", wood transportation between "Herrträsk" and "Svappavare", oil transportation between Antberg and SJ line south, lots of local freight trains, long distanse misc freight train. And, of course regional, local and long distance passenger train.. Yes, I think there will be some activities.. :)

A small status report

Post by Mazzz »

Hi!

Yes, work is ongoing on the route... ongoing.. ongoing.. :)

I had some trouble with the route due to not beeing able to do a rebuild. But that problem is now solved and the route is stable. I hope that will be the case for the rest of the life for this route...

The route has been slightly expanded during the work, mainly the two branchlines for the iron ore cargo that has been extended to be 60km each, so the total length of the route is now about 350 km. However, I just love to make a release soon, so I have decided to make a first release with a reduced route, and I hope that will happend soon. If I shouldent have this trouble, the gool was to have a first release at the 8th of March on a MSTS show at the Swedish railway musem that we arrange. But that did not work out unfourtanly, but I am very happy to be on tracks again.

Here is some screenshoots from the newest parts:
Image

Image

These pictures is from one of the new branchline. It is the first station on that line, with long sidetracks to cover the long iron ore trains. Sometimés the Iore loco is visible here, but the most freqvent iorn train loco is the old Dm3 loco.

Due to the trouble with the track database, Antberg station is now completely rerouted. Also the three industrial areas in Antberg is completed, one of these industrial areas is a oil refinery.

Image
A new train shed is placed in Antberg for light train maintenance.

Image

Antberg has been fully reconstructed as a town as well, so a lots of new buildings are addad to the town. The hole Antberg area is completed now.
