Pick Up Objects

Post by spontin »

Does anyone know if PickUp Objects (water, coal etc) have to be constructed as animated objects or can I simply define a non-animated object as a Pick Up in order for refuelling to occur properly in the sim??

you can do it eather way animated or non-animated.

the S&C coal tower has no animation in it but water/diesal do but it dose not mater.

you should read the tec docs on MSTS CD#1 (all of them)

if you look for "Industrial Buildings v01 [IndBdV01.zip]" in the DL libre
there are sume hoppers and a deisel pump i made about 9 months ago

Animation is not necessary. Remember though the the objects origin/pivot point will be the point you attach to the track, so you would have to offset a new model accordingly. If you're planning to utilise an existing object, this could have an amusing result....so choose carefully :)
