Is this a coincidence? as I was looking at my latest Railway Modeller magazine and there is an article in there about Lion/Thunderbolt and there is a book called "Lion" by Adrian Jarvis and Len Morris which has drawings of the loco in. I would do it if I get some drawings of it.

I love that film! Absolutely love it! Go on gents, go for it, lets have the wierdest train ever to run built!
Romance! The season tickets mourn,
HE never ran to catch his train,
but passed with coach and guard and horn,
and left the local, late again!

Confound Romance, and all unseen,
Romance brought up the 9:15!

What would be good is if someone did both trains, the Lion and the coach the railway owners "Borrowed" from the fireman, and the tank engine and the bar coach. anyone up for the job? ;)

I know I'm nit picking, sorry, but its Titfield Thunderbolt,

Also, whilst the film is set on a ficticious railway the actual location filming, using the vernable 'Lion' ( a real locomotive, not one cooked up for the film), was on the former GW line through Limpley Stoke, south of Bath.

I've done my homework you Know! I know that the "Thunderbolt" was played by the Lion. I also know that the producers bent the Lion's tender, when they smashed the train back into the thunderbolt after the rope snapped and left the train stranded. Hands up who new that already?

I have a very interesting paperback about the making of the film, with all the locations described, and lots of anecdotes like that.

Dan, you mean? The fireman? The one who says 'Here, just a minute, this is my home!' when he sees the coach on the crocodile?

I think he means Mr. Valentine the one who owns the line and has his own corner of the coach bar.

nah i was thinking of the fireman whose house is requisitioned and placed on the crocodile, but whynot do BOTH? have a passenger view of the four-wheeler on the crocodile with the owner of the line, etc etc???

Well, heres the promise. If somebody does the stock and scenery, I'll build the route. Untill then, you'll have to wait. I need time to collect together some more information anyway. I'm going to generate the tiles ready for when I've got the stock. The I stock will need before I build the route is:

Thuderbolt
Dan's Coach (Passanger view?)
1405 Tank engine (Perhaps with the whistle sounds)
Bar coach, (Passanger view)
Brake van

Scenery I will need, is:

Titfeild station
Crump and Alec's bus(For static and car spawner)

So, until I've got all that, I'm going to put the route to...

So, if you want it, that is what I will need. ;) Good luck locomotive and scenery builders! Titfield-Melingford line is in your hands!

P.S. For Mellingford, I will use Carlise station, unless somebody wants to do Mellingford as scenery.

P.P.S Perhaps we could Upload a Titfeild Thunderbolt Mega pack, with the route and Stcok included! ;)
