I know it';s not the precise area you're interested in but there's a Caldervale route that is close. A bit SW of where you are looking I think. Do a search under that word on the forums and you will track down the author.

I would love to see the northern ECML section and the Darlington-Bishop Auckland branch modelled as I live next to the line and see trains amost everyday so would be nice to see it in MSTS.

Attempting to reconstruct extinct lines in NW Durham all branching from main LNER. Have so far laid track from just north of Birtley to just south of Relley Junction. The stations are not authentic (used Settle/Carlisle) and Durham has grown to Carlisle size ! I am not interested in accuracy - I just wat to see my 9F hauling loaded iron ore hoppers from Tees Dock and Tyne Dock to Consettt Iron Company. I have laid tiles to include Wear Dock to CIC and Consett to Bishop Auckland and Bishop Auckland to Relley Junction - phew !

Failing that come back in 2010 for the York to Aberdeen section of GNEREastCoast, that should give either Rob to build it or for the scottish route builders to have linked up all their projects into the scottish rail network and someone to add in that vital missing link.

Oh and by the way im not joking about the time scale

I have a fair bit of my route built which takes in the Scottish Borders lines from Berwick via Duns to St.Boswells and the line on the Southern bank of the Tweed from Tweedmouth to St.Boswells, also covers part of the ECML from Chathill in Northumberland (to include the branch to Seahouses), north to Reston and including the Eyemouth branch.

Most of the track is laid, but I have been fiddling with TSTools and stuffed up some of the terrain, so am having to go back and do some more details.

Maybe one day it will be finished, unless I extend it south to Newcastle or North to Edinburgh.

Yes, Caldervale is more Yorkshire and North West (Leeds - Manchester). I would've liked to have linked it up to York, but I've sort of abandoned development on the route due to the constant problems I was having with being unable to save properly...

Still, it's definitely worth a look if you want a Northern England route!

My next route will be West Yorkshire based too. Just waiting on the Finescale track before I start...

Hello AndrewH - Newcastle and Sunderalnd are not included. I start at __MPH just north of Birtley - the previous is imagined. Same thing with Sunderland I start just east of South Pelaw Junction. I have now worked my way west from Relley Mill Junction to Malton (not a station) next stop Lanchester (my home town).
eddief - Will be sometime before I reach Bishop Auckland - will call on you if I need help do`nt know how I will simulate the station!

Well it depends on what era you are doing? if it is up till about 1985 you need a proper station but after that it has only a small platform with a cafe and local test centre on (it used to be such a grand station to).

Oops AndrewH - the line from Sunderland meets the main LNER line just east of Newton Hall not South Pelaw Junction which is where the line from Tyne Dock overpasses the main line on its way to Consett Iron Company via Annfield Plain.

At least you have a railway. My present problem is not knowing how to construct buildings from plans which is why I am using Settle/Carlisle stations &c. One day I will replace.
A look at 25" maps for Consett and surrounds shows there were hundreds of miles of track. Today in the whole area west of the main LNER line only one remains - and that is now disused. It ran from the cement works in Weardale. I know the track is still down at Witton-le-Wear. Is it in place through Etherley and on to Bishop Auckland. Have now laid track to Blackhill. Next will be from South Pelaw Junction to Consett
