After a lot of hard work, so many RE crashes i have lost count! and much screaming at the PC i have finally made enough progress to post a few shots. Hope you like them.

You kept that route quiet. Those screenshots look amazing

Keep up the excellent. I will be keeping a close eye on this route. I cant wait to run a HST up the lickey. All we need now is a 323

My only critiscm is of the OH gantries as they not very er.. Midland,
more ECML the ones from thames mersey might look better.
(unless they've changed them around new street now)

It's good - although the west end of New Street is far more constrained - the platforms are much more curved. The gantries are of the correct 'breed' (BR Mk3 catenary) for the Cross-City - the works were an early 90s job - so the Thames-Mersey ones are only suitable for the immediate New Street area. Except in the station areas, nearly all of the OHLE equipment is of the 'Mast & Arm' style, with some full gantries over Selly Oak viaduct. There are a few of the latticework 'half-gantries' around. The section between Kings Norton and Longbridge uses 'Mast & Arm' on the outer tracks only (except in Northfield station).

2nd Five Ways pic - is that canal turning sharply off to the right? The canal runs almost parallel to the railway (behind a brick wall) virtually all the way from Gas Street Basin (it actually runs parallel to the Granville Street alignment of the old West Suburban).

Excellent effort. You are very brave tackling New Street.

Keep up the good work and don't worry too much about the rivet counters who expect everything to be just right, most of us appreciate the amount of hard work that goes into producing even a modest route.

BTW what is the intended scope of the route? Looks like its on my (original) home territory, (Selly Oak).

Hi Guys, thanks for the support.

I Know the west end is a bit to spread out but it was the only way I could get it to work. I am trying to sort that out.
Second the 'canal' that you see there is just a marker as I am making that at the moment. But i thought i would put it in just to show what would be there.

Is it brave to attempt New St, or foolish? Good luck with it though. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it...

Hi again.
I have been asked a few times about the are the route will cover. So here goes:
The first release will see Birmingham - Gloucester/Bristiol . Inculding New St -Kings Norton via Selly Oak and Camp Hill. The redditch Brach, abbotswood-Worcester SH-Stoke Works, Birmingham- Derby via Tamworth & Four Oaks (So the complete X-City!)
After that I am hoping to do Gloucester-Cardiff, Bristol PW-Cardiff, Bham-Kidderminster-Worcester, Bham-Stafford
After reading the posts I decided to bit my lip and redo the track at New St. Having spent all of my day off work today to do it, these are the results. Only the west end is done, and there are no overheads. I have managed to bring the Gloucester tunnel and Wolves tunnels closer together, still not perfect, but much better.
