Just a quick possibly stupid question.

I have Dorset Coast CD v2. Is this wonderful extension compatible with it or is it a download version only compatible?

And as a follow on any estimate of when a Dorset Coast v3 CD?

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave
From the front page

Dorset Coast v3 is an upgrade, you will need to download all of v1, the upgrade to v2 (though none of the patches are needed, they're included in v3) and then install v3.

YES there will be a CD of Dorset v3, it's currently being worked on by the people who did the v2 CD so definitely one to look forward to.

I think what he mean was can you upload Dorset Coast v2 (from CD) to three. can't see any problems, but just a getting my hands on all the bits to try!

I have upgraded from a V2 CD install to V3 with no problem during the install, but, as reported to Dave Corfield, I am having a slight white out problem between Hook & Basingstoke. V2 plus the 2.1 patch ran fine before the upgrade.

Hi John
Not sure what the problem is here.
I've got a test version of the route, which I believe is exactly the same as the uploaded version....and I've just driven this section without error.
Could somebody else, whos installed tonight, drive Hook to Basingstoke?
Cheers

Jon, thats very interesting because I now have the whiteout error!! I have found the problem and will be uploading a patch in the near future.

Could be that I did a final build of the upload files which was not exactly the same as the earlier test versions of the route.

Hi Dave
Well I happily keep this test version then.
The only thing I'm missing is the new V3 load screen.
Glad you've found the problem.....its a brilliant section to drive. :P

Hi All thanks for the responses.

As barrybryce01475 says that is what I was asking. Can this extension be added to an existing v2 CD build. The answer I guess is yes, but wait until Dave Corfield has had the time to upload a patch to clear the whiteout around Hook.

Can I assume that the existing activities for v2 will run ok, or do they need changes?

Dave,

good to hear you found the white out cause. I will not do a route reinstall unless you advise otherwise.

Also would like to confirm that with a moderate spec machine, although my fps drops to around 6 at the critical points out of Waterloo. it does still run with no crashes. I find approaching Southampton the worse place for fps, down to 4.

Excellent route, thanks Dave and your "gang"

The CD, shouldn't it be the full route? Instead of downloading v1, the patches, v2, and then buying v3?
I don't know why v3 can't be the full route in a single zip download, like the Steyning line. Or is it too big?

The V3 CD will be the full route.

The download could be but people that already have V2 installed will then have to download about 200 Mb instead of just 60 Mb to upgrade.

What I might do though is create a single download and upload it to Train-sim.com where I haven't put Dorset Coast yet.
