ECML 3.1 Problems

Post by martinhodgson »

I'm having trouble with the signalling on Tim's ECML. On certain signals, when I get within a couple of metres, it suddenly changes from green to red, and I have to press TAB/restart the activity if I'm not aware of it. Even when I do press TAB, the speed limit goes to 0 (Is that possible!?!?!) , and I give up on the activity :-? . I have tried changing the route's restricted speed limit, but to no avail. :x
Help!?!?!? :(

BTW, it only happens with Route Indicator signals...

Yes, there are problems near peterborough, and st.neots - if the activity path has you crossing lines, and there is other traffic, it can happen.

Several activities have these signals flagged as "failed" to get round this, and for one of my activities I had to put the player path running down the up line for a while to avoid these signals.

I think you will find the signals are incorrectly positioned,on the junctions they are protecting.

This is an issue with the signal system within msts, usually this can occur on back to back points crossovers.

Also after the route was produced since this was the first route of its kind, many of the route developers discovered that signals can mysteriously move and links for route indicators can disappear if the track database is rebuilt with all the signals in place.

This issue has been resolved on the new route release since the fault was discovered well after the route was produced.

If you check the "known issues" part of the readme file it mentions signals I believe (was a long time ago)
